We had such a wonderful week in first grade celebrating Jesus and the meaning of Easter. We pray that you will have a wonderful, restful Easter break with your families!

What are we learning?
Bible:
This week we will be studying the story of David chosen as king. Our verse comes from Philippians 4:13.
Math:
This week, we will begin Unit 8. Please read over the Family Letter that is attached to this week’s homework sheet.
Reading:
This week we will review finding the main idea and making predictions while we are reading.
Phonics:
This week, we will learn about contractions and will perform contraction surgery on Wednesday! Pictures of our surgery will be posted on Seesaw. We will also study the letter y as a vowel.
Science:
This week we will continue our study of living things and will introduce insects. Our classrooms will become insect observatories as we welcome caterpillars, ladybugs, and ants into our rooms!
