Your child’s log-in information for RAZ Kids is inside of the
Friday folder. Please save this letter for it contains login
information that you will need as our year progresses. You are welcome and encouraged to begin using it at home! We ask that your child read first, then take the quiz, and listen last.
What are we learning ?
Bible: The students are continuing their study on the story of creation
from the book of Genesis. This week, we will be focusing on
Days 4-6. We will have a Bible verse test on Friday. Your child will be asked to recite Psalm 46:1 ESV version.
Math: In Math, we will begin our homework routine this week.
You will find “Home Links” stapled to the assignment sheet in the
homework folder on Mondays. The homework sheet will indicate
which one to do each night.
Please complete ONE a night (Monday-Thursday)
with your child and send each one back to school the next day.
There will be a “Family Note” at the top that will review what
your child did at school that day and a few things to try at home. They should take you no longer than 10 minutes each night to complete together. Also, Home Links are a great way to stay informed with math instruction at school.Though we send the whole week’s assignments home on Mondays,we ask you NOT to work ahead because many of the activities are designed to springboard directly from the lesson your child had at school that day.
Reading: This week we will begin our study of fables.
The students will learn that a fable is a story with a moral
or a lesson at the end, and will enjoy listening to a few!
Phonics: We are reviewing compound words in Phonics. Here is a packet
with many activities for varying abilities for you to try at home: Compound Words
Writing: This week we will continue to work on writing a detailed
sentence with proper spacing.
Social Studies: We will continue our study on rules and respect.
